Why PickGrade Is Openly AI-Powered
PickGrade's product analysis is AI-powered — and we lead with that instead of hiding it. Here's why transparent AI research beats fake testing claims, and what we promise.

Here's something most review sites won't tell you: a lot of "we tested it" content was never tested by anyone. The lab photos are stock, the testing hours are invented, and the rankings were assembled from the same public information available to everyone.
PickGrade is built differently, and we'd rather lead with it than hide it: our product analysis is AI-powered, and we think that's the point.
Why we're open about it
Trust in reviews is broken precisely because of the gap between what sites claim and what they do. We close that gap from the honest side. We don't run a physical test lab, so we'll never tell you we do. What we do is use AI to perform the research a diligent buyer would — synthesizing specifications, expert reviews, aggregated user feedback, and real ownership costs — across entire categories, consistently, and at a depth no small human team can sustain.
The result is what you see on every PickGrade page: specific picks with reasoning, honest "best for / avoid if" trade-offs on every product (because every product is wrong for someone), and running costs that price tags hide.
The accessible part: the PickGrade method
Raw analysis isn't the hard part of buying — choosing is. "The best laptop" doesn't exist; there's only the best one for your work, your budget, and your back. So every category pairs the analysis with a short quiz that matches products to your actual situation. No 4,000-word review to scroll. No fake urgency. Answer a few questions, get a defensible pick, see exactly why.
What we promise
- We will never claim hands-on testing that didn't happen.
- Every recommendation shows its trade-offs, not just its strengths.
- Affiliate links never reorder a ranking — and we mark the weaknesses of products we link to just as plainly.
- When AI analysis has limits, we'll say so rather than paper over it.
The long version is on our methodology page: How PickGrade Works.
We think the next generation of review sites won't win by pretending to be something they're not. They'll win by doing honest analysis at a scale humans can't, and being upfront about it. That's the bet PickGrade is making.
