Wheels up to the sink, no plumber required

A laundromat replacement for people with no hookups. It rolls to the kitchen sink, connects in a minute, washes a load with no install, then wheels into a closet. The drum is tiny and it's cold-water only, but for one or two renters it solves the problem.
For anyone stuck without laundry hookups, a dorm, an RV, a rental with no machine, this is the fix. The BPWM09W wheels up to your kitchen sink, screws onto the faucet with a quick-connect adapter, runs a wash with five cycles, and rolls back into a closet when it's done. The 0.9 cu ft drum holds only about 6.6 pounds and it washes in cold water only, so it's strictly a one- or two-person solution, but at $329 it beats hauling everything to a laundromat.

What we like
- ✓No permanent installation
- ✓Good for renters
- ✓Compact and affordable
Trade-offs
- −Tiny 0.9 cu. ft. (6.6 lb) capacity means several loads for a household
- −Washes in cold water only
- −Needs a sink/faucet hookup and some supervision; included hoses are short
- −Not a substitute for a full-size washer with bulky items like comforters
Best for
Renters, dorms, RVs, and small apartments that need basic laundry without permanent washer hookups.
Avoid if
You can install a full-size washer, wash large family loads, or need fast cycles and long-term appliance durability.

How we know
High confidenceLast checkedThe BLACK+DECKER BPWM09W is a 0.9 cu. ft. portable top-load washer — a laundromat-replacer for apartments, dorms, and RVs with no hookups. It holds about 6.6 lb per load, offers five cycles (Heavy, Gentle, Normal, Rapid, Soak) and three water levels, and connects to a standard kitchen faucet with the included quick-connect adapter and drain hose. A stainless-steel tub, transparent quiet-close lid, LED display, child lock, and auto unbalance/auto-shutoff round it out, and two roller wheels with side handles let you wheel it to a closet between uses. Reviewers and owners like the clean results, quiet operation, and genuine convenience for small spaces. The limits are exactly what you'd expect from a portable unit: the 0.9 cu. ft. drum is tiny, so a household will run several loads; it washes in cold water only; it needs a sink connection and some supervision, with a few owners reporting short or leak-prone hoses; and it's no substitute for a full-size machine with bulky items. For one or two people without laundry hookups, it's an affordable, space-saving fix.
