Radar-precise alerts and 2,000 lumens of deterrence — a hardwired floodlight that lights up the whole yard
Ring Floodlight Cam Pro
Ring
Less a camera than a deterrent with a lens: 2,000 lumens of floodlight, radar 3D Motion Detection that maps where motion happens, and 2K HDR with strong color night vision. But it hardwires into a junction box, keeps nothing without a Ring Home plan, and offers no local storage.
The Floodlight Cam Pro is built to stop trouble before it's recorded. Two roughly 2,000-lumen LED panels flood a driveway or backyard with light the moment its radar-powered 3D Motion Detection senses someone crossing a boundary — and because that sensor measures distance and angle rather than just heat, you can draw motion zones precisely instead of roughly. Daytime 2K HDR is sharp, and with the floodlights on, night footage is full color and detailed enough to make out clothing and vehicles. Two-Way Audio+ adds noise reduction, and a 110dB siren handles escalation. The catch is the Ring model: it hardwires into an existing junction box with no plug-in option (you may need an electrician), it stores no footage at all without a Ring Home subscription, and there's no local storage fallback. It also skips Apple HomeKit. Buy it for deterrence and coverage of a large exterior space, not for a cheap, self-contained setup.

How we know
High confidenceLast checkedHomeCamCafe and SafeWise both rate the Floodlight Cam Pro as Ring's strongest outdoor camera, praising the 2K HDR image, full-color night vision under its dual floodlights, and the precision of radar 3D Motion Detection — while making the same point our scoring does: it records nothing without a Ring Home plan and there's no local storage. Reviewers note the hardwired-only install adds friction. We score it well on detection and deterrence but mark down storage value and installation.
