Head-to-head
DJI Mini 4 Pro vs Autel EVO Nano+
Both of these live under the 250-gram line that spares you registration in many countries, and both carry real cameras. The DJI Mini 4 Pro is the default: omnidirectional obstacle sensing, DJI's tracking modes, and the most polished flight experience in the class. The Autel EVO Nano+ is the deliberate alternative — a strong 50MP camera and solid flying for less, from the brand people choose specifically because it isn't DJI.

| Verdict | The drone most people should buy. Under 249g so it skips US registration and pockets easily, yet it shoots 4K/60 HDR and adds full obstacle sensing that makes new pilots brave. It's twitchy in wind, but for travel and learning nothing in its class touches it. | The best non-DJI compact, and a privacy pick. The Nano+ stays under 249g, packs a slightly larger sensor than DJI's Mini, and uniquely needs no account or geofencing. It costs more than a Mini and the app is rougher, but as a DJI alternative it's the one. |
| Best for | Travelers and beginners who want strong aerial video, obstacle sensing, and an easy-to-carry drone in a compact package. | Buyers who want a compact DJI alternative with strong camera features and travel-friendly size. |
| Avoid if | You need premium cinema image quality, heavy-wind confidence, or the lowest possible beginner-drone price. | You want the widest accessory ecosystem, the most polished app experience, or DJI's strongest obstacle and tracking stack. |

Final verdict
The Mini 4 Pro is worth its $80 premium for almost everyone: omnidirectional obstacle sensing is the feature that saves new pilots from their first expensive mistake, and DJI's transmission and app ecosystem are simply more mature. The Nano+ is the right pick for two buyers — people who won't purchase DJI on principle or policy, and anyone who finds it discounted well below the Mini.
