The mesh we'd point most buyers to first: fast, generously equipped, and priced like it wants to win. HomeShield's basic tier is free, and only the deepest power-user controls are missing.
If there's a default recommendation in Wi-Fi 7 mesh, this is it. The Deco BE63 is a tri-band BE10000 system with the modern Wi-Fi 7 essentials — 320 MHz channels, MLO, 4K-QAM — and a port loadout that punches well above its price: four 2.5 GbE ports and a USB 3.0 socket on every node. That means you can wire devices, run a 2.5-gig backhaul between units, and still have ports to spare, all for roughly half what the flagships ask. The reason it lands near the top of nearly every value ranking is balance. Real-world speeds are strong without being record-breaking, coverage in the three-pack suits most large homes, and crucially the basic tier of HomeShield — network security and parental controls — is free, where eero and Netgear gate equivalents behind a monthly fee. The compromises are real but narrow: there's no 10-gig port, so internet plans above 2.5 Gbps will outrun the wired ceiling, and TP-Link's tangle of near-identical model names (it's also sold as the Deco 7 Pro BE63, and shouldn't be confused with the pricier BE65 Pro) makes buying needlessly confusing.
