The Pro 6 nails the wireless-outdoor basics: crisp 2K HDR, real color night vision, an eight-month battery, and an IP65 build. But video history and the AI alerts that justify it both sit behind Arlo Secure, and there's no local recording without the separate SmartHub.

Arlo's sixth-gen flagship is built for people who want a clean, cord-free outdoor camera and don't mind paying to keep the footage. The 2K HDR sensor resolves faces and plates well in daylight, and a dual-mode night view switches between true color — using the integrated spotlight — and traditional infrared. The swappable battery lasts roughly eight months per charge and now recharges over standard USB-C, so you're never tied to a proprietary cable. Arlo Intelligence handles person, vehicle, animal, and package alerts, but those, plus any video history beyond a live view, require an Arlo Secure plan starting around $10 a month. Without the optional SmartHub there's no local storage at all — the main reason it trails the no-subscription cameras on storage value despite genuinely strong hardware.

How we know

High confidenceLast checked

Independent reviews from T3 and Trusted Reviews consistently praise the Pro 6's daylight clarity, spotlight-assisted color night vision, and easy wire-free setup, while flagging the same trade-off our scoring reflects: the smartest features are locked behind Arlo Secure, and there's no local recording out of the box. T3 confirmed the ~8-month battery claim held up across weeks of use. We weight ongoing cost heavily, which is why a capable camera lands mid-pack on storage value despite strong hardware.
