The maximalist's handheld. Its 8.8-inch 144Hz OLED is the best screen on any portable, backed by Z2 Extreme power, up to 32GB RAM, and detachable controllers with a kickstand. But it's $1,099+, runs clunky Windows, and nearly a kilogram, a lap machine, not a commuter.
The Legion Go 2 is the maximalist handheld. Its 8.8-inch 1920x1200 OLED at 144Hz is simply the best display fitted to any portable gaming device — bigger, brighter, and smoother than everything else here — and it's backed by Z2 Extreme silicon, up to 32GB of RAM, a 74Wh battery, and Switch-style detachable controllers with a kickstand for tabletop sessions. It's heavy and it's expensive, but if you treat a handheld as your primary gaming machine rather than a travel companion, this is the one that feels least like a compromise.

It keeps the line's party trick — fully detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers with hall-effect sticks (one doubles as a mouse) and a built-in kickstand — and steps up to AMD's Zen 5-based Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme with Radeon 890M graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
