The gaming chair that's actually ergonomic enough to work in
Secretlab Titan Evo
Reviewed by
Michal Zucker · Fitness, Movement & Wellbeing Editor
The rare gaming chair you can also work in all day. The Titan Evo builds the lumbar into the back, reclines 80-165 degrees, and comes in three sizes on a metal frame. The leatherette runs warm and the back doesn't flex, but for work-plus-play it's the pick.
Most gaming chairs are bad office chairs. The Titan Evo is the exception. Secretlab builds a real 4-way lumbar system into the backrest, so there's no loose pillow sliding around, and pairs it with 4D arms, a backrest that reclines from upright to nearly flat, and three actual sizes so you're not forced into a one-size bucket, all on a metal frame that feels built to last. The leatherette can trap heat if you run warm, the backrest is fixed rather than flexing like a Steelcase, and the warranty's a shorter 5 years, but if you want one firm, cushioned chair for both work and long gaming sessions, this is it.

What we like
- ✓Good fit for work plus gaming setups
- ✓Firmer cushioned feel than mesh task chairs
- ✓Useful for long mixed-use sessions
- ✓More comfortable direction for buyers who dislike mesh
Trade-offs
- −Fixed backrest - doesn't flex or adapt to movement like a task chair
- −Leatherette can trap heat and run warm (no mesh breathability)
- −5-year warranty (shorter than premium task chairs' 12)
- −Racing-style bucket shape and limited colorways won't suit everyone
Best for
People who split time between desk work and gaming and prefer a firmer cushioned chair over a traditional mesh task chair.
Avoid if
you want maximum ergonomic adjustability, breathable mesh, or a chair that disappears during long focused work.

How we know
Medium confidenceLast checkedThe Secretlab Titan Evo is PickGrade's cushioned pick — widely rated the best gaming chair on the market, and the smart choice if you want one firm, cushioned seat for both desk work and long gaming sessions. Unlike most gaming chairs, it's genuinely ergonomic: an integrated 4-way adjustable lumbar system is built into the backrest, with no loose pillow to slip, paired with 4D armrests and magnetic swappable CloudSwap tops, a magnetic memory-foam head pillow, and a full-length backrest that reclines from 80 to 165 degrees with a tilt lock. Build quality is a standout — a full-metal frame, premium Neo Hybrid leatherette, and genuinely easy assembly — and it comes in three sizes (Small, Regular, XL), so you can match it to your body rather than forcing a one-size bucket seat. Reviewers consistently call it the most ergonomically serious gaming chair and a strong value around $669. The honest caveats: the backrest is fixed and doesn't flex or adapt to your movement the way a Steelcase or Herman Miller task chair does; the leatherette can trap heat and run warm, so it's not ideal if you run hot or want mesh breathability; the warranty is 5 years, shorter than premium task chairs' 12; and the racing-style bucket shape and limited colorways won't suit everyone. For firm, cushioned work-and-play comfort, it's the pick.
