Anthropic's team plan, aimed at writing, reasoning, and long-document work, with shared Projects and up to a 1M-token context; premium seats add Claude Code for engineers. Worth weighing: opaque usage limits, $100+ premium seats, no EU data residency, and no image generation.

The AI subscription to consider when the work is heavy on writing and thinking, strategy docs, policies, specs, research synthesis, proposals, and careful editing, rather than living inside Office or Google apps. Shared Projects keep a team's documents, code, and context together instead of scattered across individual chats, and a context window up to 1M tokens suits long documents and large codebases; premium seats add Claude Code for engineering teams. The trade-offs are practical: usage limits are published as multipliers rather than token counts, so the only sure test of fit is trying it; premium seats are pricey at scale; there's a five-seat minimum; EU data residency isn't offered on Team plans; and Claude doesn't generate images. For writing-, research-, and code-centric teams, it's a strong fit; image-heavy or Microsoft/Google-embedded workflows are better served elsewhere.

What we like

Trade-offs

• −Usage limits are expressed only as multiples of the Pro plan — Anthropic does not publish token counts, so the only reliable way to know if a plan fits is to try it
• −Premium seats (required for Claude Code) are $100–125/seat/mo, a steep jump if a whole engineering team needs them
• −EU data residency is not offered on Team or consumer plans by default — inference routes to Anthropic's servers regardless (only the API has multi-region)
• −Five-seat minimum, so very small teams pay for seats they may not use
• −Claude does not generate images, so teams wanting an all-in-one creative AI will need a separate tool
