The right tool for a closet, safe, or small bathroom and the wrong one for anything larger: near-silent, ~$45, sips power, and needs no plumbing. But this thermo-electric mini pulls only ~9 oz a day and stalls in the cold — buy it for a damp cupboard, never for a room.

The Pro Breeze mini isn't a small dehumidifier so much as a different device: a thermo-electric (Peltier) moisture-catcher for enclosed spaces where a compressor would be overkill and too loud. In a closet, gun safe, RV, or small bathroom it's close to perfect — silent enough to forget, about $45, and it draws roughly the power of a light bulb. What it can't do is dry a room. HouseFresh's testing found it pulled only a fraction of a liter over hours in a normal space — the physics of Peltier extraction cap it around 9 ounces a day. There's no humidistat, no timer, and no continuous drain; you empty a small tank by hand when the light says so. And because it's thermo-electric, it fades exactly where you might want it — in a cold garage or basement its output drops off. For those, a desiccant like the EcoSeb is the right silent option. Keep the Pro Breeze to the cupboard it's brilliant at.

What we like

  • Near-silent and tiny — ideal for a closet, safe, RV, or small bathroom.
  • Cheap (~$45) and sips power at about 23 W.
  • No plumbing or setup; just empty the small tank when full.
  • Auto shut-off when the tank fills.

Trade-offs

  • Barely removes moisture in a normal room — it's for enclosed spaces only.
  • No humidistat, timer, or continuous drain.
  • Peltier tech fades in the cold — poor for garages or cold basements.
  • Frequently sold out on Pro Breeze's own store, and the warranty terms aren't published.

How we know

Medium confidenceLast checked

Family Handyman and HouseFresh both tested the Pro Breeze mini and reach the same verdict: excellent for a closet or small enclosed space, ineffective as a room dehumidifier — HouseFresh measured only a fraction of a litre extracted over several hours. RTINGS lists a ~0.5 L tank and ~9 oz/day. It's near-silent (~35 dB), draws ~23 W, and costs $44.99 direct from Pro Breeze. Score is high for its niche and low as a general-purpose unit; confidence is medium because the warranty terms aren't published and it is frequently out of stock on the manufacturer's own store.
